Georgia halts construction of a plant for production of electric vehicles

July 14, Fineko/abc.az. Construction of a plant on the manufacture of electric vehicles in the Georgian city of Kutaisi has been postponed because of the pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that the COVID-19 pandemic also hindered plans to train Georgian personnel in China for Jan-Feb.

The terms of construction of the plant will be revised.

The government of Georgia announced the construction of the plant in the spring of 2019. Then an agreement was reached with Chinese consortium Changan Automobile on the completion of construction work within 24 months.
