Azerbaijan’s cargo turnover grew almost by 2%

January 23, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past year Azerbaijan transported 226.4 million tons of cargo and 1.97 bn passengers.

The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reports that against compared with 2016, cargo carriages grew by 1.8% and transportation of passengers by 2.3% for 2017.

"63.9% of cargo was transported by road, 25.9% by pipelines, 6.4% by rail, 3.7% by sea and 0.1% by air," the Committee said.

88.2% of passengers were carried by road, 11.6% by the underground, and others by air and by sea.
