Georgia exempts its citizens from utility payments for 4 months

August 6, Fineko/abc.az. The government of Georgia has made a decision to cover public utility expenses of citizens for November, December, January and February.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Prime Minister Georgiy Gakharia at a government meeting.

The PM said that this decision is related to the damage caused to citizens during the pandemic: "The economic crisis will last for a long time, so we have decided to continue providing social support to citizens. In particular, it was decided to continue the program of repayment of citizens' debts for utility services during the winter months - November, December, January and February on the same principle of compensation for family consumption of no more than 200 kW/h of electricity and 200 cu m of natural gas per month."
