August 7, Fineko/abc.az. Microsoft founder Bill Gates has made a forecast about an environmental crisis, the consequences of which will surpass the harm from the coronavirus pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that Gates predicted that in the next few decades the planet will face a global crisis caused by climate change.

"As terrible as the pandemic is, climate change can be even worse. To avoid a disaster, it is necessary to significantly reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. If the death rate from infection is on average 14 people for every 100,000 people, then in the next 40 years, the death rate from elevated temperatures on the Earth will be the same, and this figure will increase 5-fold by 2100," Gates thinks.
