August 17, Fineko/abc.az. During the pandemic we witnessed that many petrochemical plants and refineries around the world reduced production, and some temporarily stopped production. During this period STAR oil refininery, part of our group, quickly adapted to the conditions of the pandemic due to the flexibility of production and continued its activities without reducing production capacity.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-mentioned statement was made by Anar Mammadov, Petkim’s general director and head of the Petkim Petrochemical Complex.

He noted that Petkim received 1 billion TRY of cash finances for operating activities for the first 6 months of 2020:

Thanks to this, Petkim continuously received naphtha, which is the main raw material of STAR. This situation is a clear proof of how successful were investments in STAR plant and how correct the strategy was to integrate STAR-Petkim. As a result of our active activity in the 2nd quarter of 2020, our company made a profit of 145 million liras.

In addition, on 19-24 June the Turkish Standards Institute successfully completed an audit conducted at our enterprises. Petkim, STAR and SOCAR Depolama received the TSE COVID-19 Reliable Production Certificate.
