Consumer price index increased by 2.9% for Jan-Aug

September 10, Fineko/abc.az. The consumer price index increased by 2.9%, for the first 8 months (versus Jan-Aug 2019), including on foods, beverages and tobacco by 5.3%, on nonfoods by 1.3%, and on paid services by 1%.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that CPIU for August 2020 fell by 0.2% against July (deflation), but grew by 2.8% versus August 2019.

In August 2020 the CPI on foods, beverages and tobacco declined by 0.5% compared with the previous month and increased by 4.9% versus August 2019.
