September 11, Fineko/abc.az. "We’re closely following the topic of cryptocurrencies and are cooperating in this direction with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan," ABC.AZ reports citing Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.

"Based on the peculiarities of our financial system and economy, Azerbaijan prefers a more conservative policy here. In particular, in my opinion, the main issues related to regulation and the root of the political aspect of this issue will depend on the decision that states will give in the future. The omission of the state's monopoly of the means of payment is an extremely sensitive and complex decision. Calculating and accounting for all its consequences is a very complex process. It is for this reason that there are different approaches in the world, and before forming a common position here, you should choose a healthy conservatism," the minister emphasized.
