January 30, Fineko/abc.az. The European Commission renders technical assistance to Azerbaijan for the development of the Baku International Sea Trade Port.

Heinrich Hololei, Director General for Mobility & Transport of the European Commission, has stated at a news conference in Baku that the amount of technical assistance is EUR 1 million.

"The Baku Sea Trade Port is occupying an important place in the trade turnover between Europe and Asia. The Baku port and a number of international corridors make the country a transit and logistics center. Azerbaijan has serious plans on this issue and commissioning of railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars is part of those plans," Mr. Hololei underlined.
