ADB: Rate of social benefit recipients has declined in Azerbaijan

September 14, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, the share of people covered by at least one social benefit in the total number of the Azerbaijani population made up 31.5%, ABC.AZ informs with reference to Asian Development Bank’s report.

This figure is 8.8 percentage points less than in 2016. And the share of the population who reached the retirement age reached 100%.

The countries with the highest rate in Asia for the share of the total population covered by at least one social benefit include the Cook Islands (86.3%), Mongolia (85%) and China (78.5%). The lowest rate was observed on Laos (0.4%), Solomon Islands (1.1%) and Myanmar (1.6%).
