11:00 - 17.09.2020

September 17, Fineko/abc.az. Although Azerbaijan has made progress in health and education, it should invest more in strengthening its human capital, the World Bank’s report says.

ABC.AZ was informed at the WB representative office in Azerbaijan that the report says that young people in Azerbaijan, as well as in other parts of Europe and Central Asia, have the opportunity to become productive adults due to continuous investments in healthcare and education in childhood and adolescence.

This report analyzes the development of 103 countries in the field of human capital in the period from 2010 to 2020.

Azerbaijan is one of the 10 countries that have made the greatest progress in the field of public health service and education.

"However, the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic poses risks to the success achieved, as certain restrictions have been applied that put the provision of healthcare and education services in the face of a range of challenges," the report says.
