September 17, Fineko/abc.az. A range of innovations in the pension system are expected in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection that the pension system will be reformed in the following ways:

- enabling a pensioner to switch to any other type of pension to which he is entitled, including from an old-age pension to a disability pension, at his own choice;

- granting a person who has lost the head of the family the right to choose a higher pension or social benefit;

- the distribution between other family members the amount of the pension received by the pension-entitled family member in case of loss of the head of the family, that is, the share of pension on the loss of the head of the family, received by him by that time;

- increasing the availability of preferential pension provision for employees with harmful and difficult working conditions;

- application of the mechanism in the interests of pensioners when recalculating pensions.

- expansion of proactive services in the field of pension assignments and automation of pension recalculation.
