98% of TAP gas pipe project finished - its launch date declared

September 30, Fineko/abc.az. Gas supplies to Italy via Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) will start later this year, stated TAP Managing Director Luca Schieppati, delivering speech at Energy Summit of Italy - 2020, ABC.AZ reports.

He noted that gas transportation will begin at the end of the year, and thus the Southern Gas Corridor will be launched. According to the latest data, 98% of the TAP project has already been completed.

The TAP Project official representative added that at present, the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the front region does not create any risks for the transportation of gas through the above-said pipeline.
