Russia to make a 50% discount for Azerbaijan on transported grain

October 7, Fineko/abc.az. Grain production is expected to grow in Russia this year, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Alexey Shilo, the head of the Center for Corporate Transport Services of Russian Railways.

According to Shilo, the company is taking certain steps to increase grain carriages: "For example, a 38% discount is provided for the transportation of grain exported over short distances (up to 400 km) in the direction of the Caspian and Azov-Black Sea basins, as well as 50% for the transportation of grain through the Samur border point (Russia–Azerbaijan border)."

It should be noted that for the 2019/2020 season Azerbaijan imported 1.4 million tons of grain from Russia (3-4% of grain exports from the neighboring country).
