MG co-chairs issue a statement calling for implementation of commitments

October 13, Fineko/abc.az. The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Igor Popov (Russian Federation), Stephane Visconti (France) and Andrew Schaefer (USA) made a joint statement.

ABC.AZ informs that the co-chairs called on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to take urgent steps to fully implement the parties' obligations under the agreement approved in Moscow on 10 October to prevent catastrophic consequences in the region.

The co-chairs reiterate that victims among the civilian population are unacceptable under any circumstances. The co-chairs call on the parties to take immediately the necessary measures to respect the humanitarian ceasefire in order to ensure the exchange of the remains of the dead, prisoners of war and detainees, and also call on the parties to agree urgently on a mechanism for monitoring the ceasefire.

The co-chairs noted that after talks with Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan that they are working on the main provisions of a political settlement of the conflict.
