Renewable power plants to be built in three districts

October 20, Fineko/abc.az. Renewable energy power plants are to be constructed in the Absheron, Khizi and Garadag districts, ABC.AZ reports, citing Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.

The minister recalled that this January the contracts were signed with Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power and UAE’s Masdar for the implementation of pilot projects on wind power plants with capacity of 240 MW and solar power plants with capacity of 200 MW, and added that the plants will be built by ACWA Power and Masdar.

The wind- and solar-powered stations will be built at a cost of approximately $400 million, entirely at the expense of foreign investments.
