Azerbaijan bans hunting of wild animals and birds

October 21, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan Scientific Coordination Council on Hunting Issues has held a meeting devoted to the matter of halting the hunting of wild animals and birds with taking into account the declaration of martial law in Azerbaijan and the tightening of the special quarantine regime in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that Biodiversity Protection Service’s head Firuddin Aliyev said that at the meeting with the participation of representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, relevant governmental bodies, international organizations and public associations, the Council’s members unanimously decided to suspend temporarily the hunting of wild animals and birds from 20 October 2020.
