Azerbaijani leader: We`ve heard Armenian officials’ threats to attack our pipelines

October 22, Fineko/abc.az. Our pipelines are properly protected on our territory.

ABC.AZ informs that President Ilham Aliyev said this in an interview with Japanese newspaper Nikkei on 21 October.

The head of state noted: "We have heard threats from Armenian officials that they will attack our pipelines, the Sangachal terminal, which is important for oil and gas transportation. This is also part of their terrorist nature, because they openly declare that they will attack civilian infrastructure. The Armenian Leadership will be very sorry if it decides to launch attacks on the energy infrastructure on Azerbaijani territory," the president stated.

The Azerbaijani leader added that billions of dollars have been invested in laying Azerbaijan's export pipelines, including funds from all leading international banks, such as the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, the Asian Development Bank, the European Investment Bank and others.

"Therefore, the Armenian Leadership should think carefully about this option. Of course, as I’ve already said, Azerbaijan will punish them harshly, but I don't think they will decide to commit this, another war crime," President Aliyev said.
