October 30, Fineko/abc.az. Central Bank’s chairman Elman Rustamov has conducted an online press conference.

ABC.AZ informs that Rustamov told about the impact of the pandemic on the banking sector.

"Due to the negative impact of the pandemic, there is a deterioration in the credit portfolio of banks, including consumer loans to some extent. We monitor the state of the banks' portfolio on a weekly basis. Today, we continue to conduct an extensive and in-depth analysis of the situation on the banking market for the past 9 months. I think that in the coming days we’ll be able to provide the public with more detailed data. I can say that the situation is better than we predicted based on the results of stress tests in March. A double capital buffer is saved. We’ll provide further clarification after this work is completed next week. As for loans, we have deterioration in indicators, but this is normal," Rustamov added.
