Azerbaijani population grew by 88,000 people for 2017

February 15, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijani population increased by 88,104 people over the past year.

The State Statistics Committee informs that as of 1 January 2018 the country’s population reached 9,898,085 people.

The urban population makes up 52.9% and the rural population 47.1%. Of them, 49.9% account for men and 50.1% for women. 22.8% of country’s population is residing in Baku, 4.6% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 20.3% in Aran Economic Region, 12.9% in Ganja- Gazakh, 9.4% in Lankaran and 30% in other regions of Azerbaijan.
