Rules of temporary restriction of foreigners departure from Azerbaijan changed


November 23, Fineko/abc.az. Changes have been made to the rules for temporarily restricting the departure of foreigners and stateless persons from Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the relevant amendments to the Civil Procedure Code of Azerbaijan, the Migration Code, the Code of Administrative Offences, the Laws on Local Taxes & Fees and on Non-Cash Payments approved by President Ilham Aliyev today.

According to the amendments to the Migration Code, if foreigners fail to fulfill their obligations on taxpayer or insurer taxes, mandatory state social insurance, mandatory medical insurance and unemployment insurance premiums, if there is a court decision on temporary restriction of their right to leave Azerbaijan for non-payment of accrued debts and interest, taxes and financial sanctions imposed under mandatory state social insurance, departure from Azerbaijan will be temporarily restricted until a decision is made to lift the restriction.
