December 2, Fineko/abc.az. The situation with coronavirus, as well as in other countries, affected the tourism sector of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in November’s issue of the Export Review of the Center for Analysis & Communications of Economic Reforms for 2020.

Over the past 10 months 720,300 foreigners and stateless persons arrived in Azerbaijan from 155 countries (by 3.7 times less versus Jan-Oct 2019). In April-October of this year there was a sharp decrease in the number of arrivals in Azerbaijan, and trips were carried out mainly for non-tourist purposes.

In October 2020 foreign citizens’ transactions through bank cards in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 24.9 million. Over Jan-Oct 2020 the foreigners made transactions through bank cards for AZN 379.1 million.
