Oil rises in price, and Brent is at $49.04 a barrel

December 10, Fineko/abc.az. The prices for oil of standard grades are increasing in Thursday’s trading, despite the data from the U.S. Department of Energy about a weekly growth in oil stocks in the country.

The U.S. Department of Energy informed on Wednesday that oil reserves in the country last week grew by 15.19 million barrels.

According to a Bloomberg survey, experts expected a decline in oil reserves by 1.03 million barrels, and S&P Global Platts by 700,000 barrels.

By 9:23 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the price of February Brent crude futures grew by $0.18 (0.37%) up to $49.04 per barrel. At the end of trading on 9 December the Brent futures for February rose in price by $0.02 (0.04%) up to $48.86 per barrel.

By 9:23 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the WTI oil futures for January rose in price by $0.20 (0.44%) to $45.72 per barrel. At the end of trading on 9 December the WTI oil futures for January fell by $0.08 (0.18%) to $45.52 per barrel.
