Finance Minister`s statement about exchange rate of manat: no changes

December 23, Fineko/abc.az. A meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economy, Industry & Entrepreneurship on the budget envelope for 2021 was held today.

ABC.AZ reports that at the meeting Finance Minister Samir Sharifov, referring to the exchange rate of the manat, stressed that there are no changes.

The minister noted that currently the exchange rate is accepted for 1.70 manats, and all calculations are based on this rate: "Against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic, replacing the hard pegging of the manat to the US dollar with a softer peg is not a matter of discussion."
