ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by President Ilham Aliyev during his speech to the servicemen within the visit to Gubadli.

The head of state noted that on 27 September Azerbaijan launched a counteroffensive, and then moved on to an offensive operation.

"As we had to liberate our lands and Armenia's provocations had to be stopped. It was necessary to put an end to the loss of innocent lives, and after a counteroffensive, the attacking side usually suffers more losses. However, our losses are too low for the scale of the war. Each of our martyrs is irreplaceable, and the death of each person is a great tragedy, for himself, for his relatives, for the people. But we must also state that we have achieved what we want with less loss. That is why some believe that this issue could be resolved even faster. And yet, the liberation of this territory from occupation within 44 days and the destruction of the enemy, the enemy's army, forcing the enemy to surrender is a great heroism," President Aliyev stressed.
