January 6, Fineko/abc.az. Despite the fact that the agricultural sector was projected to grow more than by 4% in 2020, agricultural production increased by about 2% because of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), as well as due to dry weather.
ABC.AZ reports that this was stated by Firdovsi Fikretzade, the director of the Center for Agricultural Research of the Ministry of Agriculture.
"The pandemic has created problems for farmers in the food service sector. The drought has led to a lag, in particular, in grain production. Nevertheless, there was an increase in the production of individual products. And in 2021, we expect growth in the agricultural sector more than by 4%," he emphasized.
