January 6, Fineko/abc.az. In 2020, Azerbaijan's economy shrank more than by 4%.

President Ilham Aliyev made the relevant statement at a meeting dedicated to the results of 2020.

The head of state noted that the domestic non-oil industry has grown more than by 11%.

"In addition, agriculture, average monthly wages and pensions have grown, and the Oil Fund’s finances have increased. Thus, Azerbaijan has maintained its foreign exchange reserves. At the end of the year, on 31 December, the Southern Gas Corridor, its last segment TAP, was fully commissioned. For the first time in history Azerbaijani gas has reached Europe. This is our historic achievement," President Aliyev underlined.
