January 12, Fineko/abc.az. Our estimates based on the general equilibrium model show that the reintegration of Karabakh into the Azerbaijani economy in the medium-term prospect will have positive impact on agriculture by 10.4%, tourism by 5.5%, mining by 5.3%, transport services by 4.9%, manufacturing by 4.3% and other services by 1.4%, and the formation of nonoil GDP by 5.1%.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-mentioned statement was made by Vusal Gasimli, the head of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications

He noted that Armenia, using Azerbaijan's transport capabilities in two directions, can establish ties with Russia, that makes 25-30% of its trade turnover.

"Projects Gyumri-Nakhchivan-Meghri-Baku and Ijevan-Gazakh-Baku. Considering that a railway line from Kars to Gyumri is also possible, in general, according to foreign sources, rail project Kars-Gyumri-Nakhchivan-Meghri-Baku requires about $434 million, and the railway project can make profit in its 13th year of operation, carrying 10 million tons of cargo a year. At that, the planned railway line from Kars to Nakhchivan and from Nakhchivan to Zangilan via the Meghri Corridor in Turkey completes the above project with even greater strategic importance. Thus, the possibility of Armenia’s joining the integration of the railway lines of Azerbaijan and Turkey will depend on how rational the policy of official Yerevan will be."
