What does opening of communications in South Caucasus promise?

January 12, Fineko/abc.az. Armenia should assess the possibility of establishing ties not only through the ports of the Mediterranean and Black Seas through Turkey, but also with Iran through Azerbaijan through Julfa.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Vusal Gasimli, the head of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications.

"As under difficult geographical conditions, no investor agrees to invest $2-3 bn in the construction of the Armenian-Iranian railway project. The opening of communications in the South Caucasus creates the possibility of access to the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean through the Iranian cargo port Bandar Abbas, joining the Istanbul-Islamabad railway line," Gasimli said.
