Oil prices rise, and Brent is at $57.28 a barrel

January 13, Fineko/abc.az. After the growth the day before, the oil prices continued rising in Wednesday’s trading amid the data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) about the decline in U.S. inventories.

According to API data, the U.S. oil reserves fell by 5.8 million barrels last week. The decline was recorded for the third week at a run and was the highest since the end of October.

By 9:17 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the price of March’s Brent crude futures grew by $0.70 (1.24%) up to $57.28 per barrel. At the end of trading on 12 January the Brent futures for March increased in price by $0.92 (1.65%) up to $56.58 per barrel.

By 9:17 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the WTI oil futures for February rose in price by $0.57 (1.07%) up to $53.78 per barrel. Following the trading on 12 January the WTI oil futures for February grew by $0.96 (1.84%) up to $53.21 per barrel.
