Work underway on expansion of a road highway on Azerbaijan-Russia border

February 8, Fineko/abc.az. Work is ongoing successfully on the expansion of four lanes of the highway between the border checkpoints ‘Hanob’, ‘Shirvanovka’ and ‘Samur’ on the Azerbaijani-Russian border.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Azerbaijani State Motor Road Agency that work is currently underway on dismantling of the existing pavement, raising and expanding the soil layer to the level of natural terrain, transferring the communication lines, driving piles and creating a new soil layer.

The project includes the construction of an interchange on the Samur-Yalama international railway line, two bridges across the Khan Arhi and Samur-Absheron Water Canal, as well as a road tunnel at the intersection with the local road in the territory of Hanob.

The work is expected to be completed during 2022.
