February 8, Fineko/abc.az. "The Azerbaijani government has filed a lawsuit to the European Court of Human Rights in connection with Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan. The lawsuit was filed not by the citizens of Azerbaijan, but by the government of the country, and is an interstate statement and the first case against Armenia."

ABC.AZ was informed about this by Kamal Jafarov, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Legal Policy & State Building.

According to Jafarov, the statement raises the questions of violation of Azerbaijani citizens’ rights on life, respect for their private and family life, freedom of religion, torture and ill-treatment, property rights and free movement as a result of Armenia’s occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts of Azerbaijan, which lasted about 30 years. The statement also says about 3,890 missing citizens of Azerbaijan and Armenia's failure to take any action for investigation of such cases.
