February 15, Fineko/abc.az. The Armenians themselves admit that they had 10,000 deserters during the war.

ABC.AZ reports President Ilham Aliyev made such a statement when delivering speech in village Gulyabirdh, Lachin district.

The president noted that there were no deserters in the Azerbaijani army.

"This is a manifestation of the high morale of our people, our army, a manifestation of the policy being pursued. We’ve won a victory on the battlefield. Fighting, we liberated these lands from the invaders. After defeating Armenia, we forced it to sign an act of surrender on November 10 and return the Lachin, Kelbajar, and Aghdam districts to us. Since during the negotiations, they never wanted to return the Lachin and Kelbajar districts to us. This was the main reason for the lack of agreement in the negotiations. Unfortunately, Armenia and a number of its foreign patrons sought to return 5 districts to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan was content with this, Nagorno-Karabakh once gained independence, and the Kelbajar and Lachin districts remained under the eternal control of Armenia. But I rejected this offer," he underlined.
