February 26, Fineko/abc.az. Construction of an airport has started in Fizuli. First of all, we launched the process of clearing the territory.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made the relevant statement at today’s news conference.

The head of state noted that this process is already being completed: "The airport will be put into operation in the near future. It will be an international airport. The take-off runway will be able to receive all types of aircrafts. The airport will be used for transportation of both cargo and tourists visiting Shusha. It is difficult to fasten the construction process, as first it is necessary to clear the territory of mines. But we plan to launch the airport earlier this autumn."
