AQTA appeals to Customs Committee on occasion of ban on poultry meat import

March 9, Fineko/abc.az. According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), high incidence of avian influenza has been recorded in the administrative-territorial units of Herat of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Halland and Östergötland (Sweden).

In order to protect the territory of Azerbaijan from infectious animal diseases that can be spread from other countries, taking into account the principle of zoning in accord with the Code of Land Animal Health of the OIE, temporary restrictions on the import of all types of live poultry and poultry products from the administrative-territorial units of Herat (Afghanistan), Halland and Östergötland of the Kingdom of Sweden.

ABC.AZ reports that at the same time, an appeal was sent to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan to take appropriate measures against vehicles arriving or passing through transit from Afghanistan and Sweden in order to strengthen control measures.
