Britain strain of coronavirus detected in Azerbaijan

March 18, Fineko/abc.az. Sars Cov-2 genomes are regularly analyzed in examples, taken from persons who enter Azerbaijan from abroad and live in the country, and the suspected variants are revealed, ABC.AZ was informed at the National Center for Hematology & Transfusion.

501Y.V1, B.1.1.7 (Britain variant) has been detected in three examples during Sars Cov-2 genome analysis in the NCHT Genetic Diagnoses Center.

It should be noted that the Coronavac vaccine used in Azerbaijan against coronavirus is also effective against new strains.
