April 6, Fineko/abc.az. After research conducted in the U.S., it became known that the period of the pandemic was useful for billionaires.

ABC.AZ reports that in the course of the analysis the economists found out that during one year of the pandemic 2,265 billionaires increased their wealth by $4 trillion or by 54%.

So, from 18 March 2020 to the same period of this year the fortune of billionaires grew from $8.04 trillion up to $12.39 trillion.

The biggest fortune among billionaires is owned by Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon.com. This is the richest person in the world with a fortune that has grown from $113 bn up to $178 bn (a rise of 57%). Among those whose fortunes have increased during the period under review, there is also Bernard Arnault and his family: their wealth grew by 114% up to $162.6 bn.

Elon Musk's fortune increased up to $162.1 bn.

During this period, the wealth of Bill Gates increased by 29% up to $126.5 bn, and the fortune of Mark Zuckerberg by 86% up to $101.7 bn.
