April 12, Fineko/abc.az. The Supervisory Board of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) has held a regular meeting to discuss the state of implementation of Azerbaijani president’s tasks.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the Public Relations & Marketing Department of the Azerbaijan Investment Holding, Supervisory Board’s chairman Mikayil Jabbarov stressed that in accordance with the instructions of the country’s leader, the Supervisory Board is working over further improvement the functionality of SOCAR.

The Board is taking appropriate steps in the area of cooperation with the company's board in order to improve the efficiency of the State Oil Company's activity within the framework of best practices and management requirements, and to improve its management in accord with modern corporate governance standards.

In compliance with the presidential decree, the Supervisory Board continues work on determining the long-term development strategy of the company.
