April 27, Fineko/abc.az. On 26 April, President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the international airport in Zangilan.

ABC.AZ reports that speaking at the ceremony, President Aliyev said:

"Today we laid the foundation of the Zangilan International Airport. The length of the airport's runway will be 3 km. The airport will be able to accept all types of aircrafts, including heavy-duty ones. The construction of the second airport was launched on the liberated lands. The construction of the international airport in Fizuli is already successfully underway. This year, the runway of the Fizuli airport will be put into operation. Thus, this year we’ll be able to receive the first aircraft in Fizuli. The geographical location of the Zangilan district and the opportunities available here, of course, create opportunities for turning Zangilan into an international transport and logistics center. It is no coincidence that the airport will be built in Zangilan. Because looking at the geographical location, everyone can see that the third international airport to be built in Fizuli, Zangilan and then in Lachin district, will cover the whole of Karabakh and the eastern zone of Zangezur, including Zangilan."
