Forecast: Global economic growth to be 6% in 2021

April 30, Fineko/ According to the latest forecasts of the International Monetary Fund, global economic growth will be 6% inthis year.

ABC.AZ reports that this forecast is 0.5 percentage points higher than the previous one.

The more optimistic forecast is explained by the results of vaccination and anti-crisis measures on the part of countries. The report says that the recovery of global economic activity under the terms of the OPEC+ agreement supports demand in the oil market.

"The average price of Brent crude oil over the past period of 2021 exceeded $62. According to the updated forecasts of international organizations, in the remaining period of the year, oil prices will be close to the current level. It is projected that by the end of 2021 the current account will be in surplus, if the latest trends continue," the IMF forecast says.
