US companies invested $17 bn in Azerbaijani economy

Baku is hosting Azerbaijani-American Business Forum.

During the forum Deputy Economy Minister Sahil Babayev of Azerbaijan has stated that this year both countries’ trade turnover increased by 7% up to $416 million.

"Also, there is the process of expanding investment cooperation between the two countries. So, American companies’ investments in Azerbaijan's economy have been brought up to $17 bn. Azerbaijani companies also invest in the US economy. In particular, the role of investments of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) is important as well,” the deputy minister said.
