Kazakhstan's debt to Azerbaijan increased

May 18, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 January of this year Kazakhstan's external public debt increased by 3% year-on-year and reached $163.4 bn, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

93.9% of the external public debt of Kazakhstan is long-term debt (for the period of more than 1 year).

As for separate countries, as of 1 January 2021 Kazakhstan's debt to Azerbaijan amounted to $42.7 million (25.1% more than on 1 January 2020). As for the structures, out of the country's debt to Azerbaijan, $15 million is owed by companies, $8.2 million is owed by the banking sector, and $19.5 million is owed by other sectors.
