A ban imposed on poultry meat import from Germany

June 1, Fineko/abc.az. An outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza has been recorded in Bremen (Germany), according to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

ABC.AZ was informed at the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) that in order to protect against infectious diseases of animals that can be transmitted to other countries, taking into account the zoning principle, according to the Land Animal Health Code of the OIE, a temporary restriction has been introduced on the import of all types of live poultry, poultry meat and breeding eggs from the city of Bremen.

At the same time, an appeal was sent to the State Customs Committee to take appropriate measures with respect to vehicles arriving from Germany or passing through in order to strengthen control measures.
