June 16, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Shusha during his trip to Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that during the trip Erdogan signed the Shusha Declaration with President Ilham Aliyev. The leaders then made a joint statement to the press.

Speaking to the press, the heads of state touched upon some points. President Aliyev said that Armenia had mined all these territories during the occupation of Karabakh.

"We handed over 15 prisoners, and in return we received all the mine maps of Agdam district," the Azerbaijan leader said.

When asked by Erdogan about the accuracy of the map, President Aliyev said that the U.S. vouched for the accuracy of the maps of the minefields of Aghdam district, handed over by Armenia to Azerbaijan, and the places of mines are indicated correctly.

"In this district alone there are 97,000 mines buried, of which 54,000 are anti-tank mines and the rest are anti-personnel mines," he emphasized.
