Problem loans increased up to AZN 921 million

12:54 - 23.06.2021

June 23, Fineko/abc.az. Over the first 4 months of 2021 the volume of both credit investments and non-performing loans from banks increased. Thus, having completed last year with loan portfolio of AZN 14.5 bn, the banking sector managed to bring this figure up to AZN 14.987 bn, ABC.AZ reports citing MP Vugar Bayramov.

He noted that banks with problem loans for AZN 893 million at the end of 2020, now have non-performing loans for AZN 921 million:

“For Jan-Apr 2021 the problem loans with loan portfolio increased in the same proportion as at the beginning of the year. For both indicators, the growth was 3.1%. Although the growth of the loan portfolio was a positive thing, an increase in the amount of non-performing loans by 3.1% for 4 months is not desirable."
