Rosselkhoznadzor bans some products from Azerbaijan

July 5, Fineko/abc.az. During the phytosanitary control, the state inspectors of Rosselkhoznadzor did not allow four consignments from Azerbaijan and two ones from Iran to be imported into the territory of the Russian Federation: tomatoes (49.1 tons), pears (19.2 tons), peppers (16.3 tons) and cherries (19.6 tons).

ABC.AZ reports that the total volume of products that did not reach the Russian market amounted to 104.2 tons.

"The reason for the detention was the conclusion of the laboratory, which confirmed the detection of harmful objects in the batches of quarantine - tomato moth (Tuta absoluta Povolny), Western (California) flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis Perg) and Eastern fruit moth (Grapholitha molesta). It was decided to return the goods to Azerbaijan and Iran, " the information says.
