MP reproaches travel companies for inflating prices

12:46 - 7.07.2021

July 7, Fineko/abc.az. After the relaxation of quarantine rules, there is a significant increase in the number of people who want to go to districts of Azerbaijan on vacation.

ABC.AZ reports that according to MP Vugar Bayramov, prices for tourist facilities in districts of the country have increased significantly compared with the period before the pandemic:

"This creates serious difficulties for those who want to spend their holidays in the districts. Although the reasons for the increase in prices for tourism services are not clear from an economic angle, it is undeniable that a number of entrepreneurs after the pandemic are working on the principle of “more income in a short time”. The experience of developed countries shows that a significant part of the income from tourism accounts for domestic tourism. In the European Union, 80% of tourism revenue is formed by domestic tourism. But the price increase in our country limits the possibilities of domestic tourism."
