Central Bank's currency reserves increased

11:23 - 2.09.2021

September 2, Fineko/abc.az. The official foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank increased by 8.4% in August.

ABC.AZ reports that as of 1 September 2021 they amounted to $7.042 bn.

CBA's foreign exchange reserves grew by 10.6% compared with the beginning of the year and by 8.6% year-on-year.

A noticeable increase in the bank's foreign exchange reserves in August is associated with a rise of the limit of special drawing rights (SDR) of Azerbaijan within the framework of the financial distribution of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is considered the largest in history and comes into force on 23 August.
