September 10, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev has attended a ceremony to launch the ‘Kalbajar’ oil tanker at Baku Shipyard.

ABC.AZ reports that the construction of the oil tanker began at Baku Shipyard two years ago on the order of the Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping CJSC.

At president’s initiative, the tanker was named ‘Kalbajar’.

Its deadweight is 7,800 tons. The tanker measures 141 m in length, and 16.9 m in width. The permanent crew of the vessel is 15 people. The tanker with lifting capacity of 7,800 tons is equipped with equipment facilities of the world's leading companies. The technical characteristics of the tanker, especially its waterproofing, in comparison with other vessels allow it to enter relatively shallow Caspian ports with a maximum load and transport cargo outside the Caspian Sea.
