Azerbaijan ranks 2nd among potato exporter countries to Russia


September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 8 months of 2021 Russia imported 214.8 tons of potatoes from the CIS countries (2.6-fold more against Jan-Aug 2020).

According to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary & Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), the main exporting countries of potatoes to Russia in the Caspian Sea region are Belarus (98,300 tons), Azerbaijan (84,700 tons), Armenia (28,900 tons).

At that, Belarus increased potato shipments to Russia by 10.7 times, to Azerbaijan by 1.2 times, and to Armenia by 71.1 times compared with 2020.
