Belarus starts importing potatoes from Azerbaijan

September 22, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jul of this year Azerbaijan became one of the main suppliers of potatoes to Belarus.

ABC.AZ reports that Ukraine became the largest supplier of potatoes to Belarus for the above-said term with exports of 15,500 tons.

Russia, Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Egypt and Germany are also among the first-time main potato supplier countries Belarus for the first time.

It is noteworthy that Belarus imports potatoes for the first time.

Thus, the country is famous mainly as an exporter, but not an importer of potatoes. The reason for the import of potatoes in Belarus is the high cost of this product within the country.
